  • Will the tanning results from O.C. Tan 2 U Self Tan products look natural on my skin?
    Yes! O.C. Tan 2 U Self Tan products are NOT your ordinary sunless tanning products, many years ago we formulated our solution side by side with our lab to customize the perfect self tan. Thanks to our secret ingredient (and our chemist!) our products match every skin tone. As they are applied to the skin they actually go to work, pulling out the natural undertones and pigments in your skin for a perfect match on every skin tone! Even redheads with the fairest skin will receive a natural looking tan with our products, every time!
  • What sort of DHA is in O.C. Tan 2 U Self Tan products?
    All our self tanning products are made with 100% natural DHA. DHA is short for dihydroxyacetone. It is the active ingredient in all sunless tanning products. DHA is a colorless sugar found in beets. When applied, dihydroxyacetone reacts with dead cells in the skin's surface layer to temporarily darken the skin and simulate a tan.
  • How many applications will I get from a bottle of O.C. Tan 2 U Self Tanning Mousse?
    Each bottle has roughly 260 pumps. Generally speaking, you will get approximately 6 - 12 full body applications per bottle of Self Tanning Mousse. The number varies based on coverage area and how much of the product you apply during application.
  • How many applications will I get from a bottle of O.C. Tan 2 U Self Tanning Spray?
    Generally speaking, you will get approximately 2 - 6 full body applications per bottle of Self Tanning Spray. The number varies based on coverage area and how much of the product you apply during application.
  • Will I get that “fake tan smell” with O.C. Tan 2 U Self Tan Products?
    No! Each of our products contain a DHA deodorizer so you don't smell like self tanner, just coconuts!
  • How do I apply O.C. Tan 2 U Self Tanning Mousse or Spray?
    We recommend following the application instructions on the product’s item page.
  • What is the difference between the Original and the Express Self Tanning Products?
    Simply put, the development time! The development time for the Original is 10-12 hours. The development time for the Express is 4 hours. The Original will provide light to medium tanning results while the Express can provide medium to dark tanning results when left on for the full development time of 4 hours. The Express will provide light results when cutting the development time to 1-2 hours before rinsing off.
  • What does development time mean?
    Development time is the length of time you want to leave the self tanner on your skin so it can fully develop before rinsing off. During the development time it is recommended to wear only loose fitting clothing and not to get wet or any moisture/liquids onto the skin. This means no sweating, bathing, swimming or spilling of any liquids onto the skin during this time. You also want to be very careful not to touch the palms of your hands to your tanned skin until after the first shower rinse. If contact occurs, wash your hands with soap immediately to prevent your palms from turning orange. Once the development time has been reached, rinse the bronzer color guide off in the shower using warm water and no soap. You may start using soaps and body washes that are spray tan friendly 24 hours after application.
  • What is the development time for the Original?
    The development time for the Original is 10-12 hours.
  • What is the development time for the Express?
    The development time for the Express is 4 hours. The Express will provide lighter results when cutting the development time to 1-2 hours before rinsing off. At the same time, you can darken your self tan result with the Express by leaving it on for longer than the recommended 4 hours but not more than 12 hours. Leaving any self tanner on skin for longer than 12 hours will result in a drying effect leaving the tan to fade faster. Well moisturized skin will hold a self tan much longer than dry skin. NOTE: When Self Tanning with the Express you will notice your color lighten quite a bit after your first rinse. Don’t worry, color results take a full 24 hours from time of application to appear. The Express is a rapid formula designed to allow showering and normal life activities to occur much sooner than with the Original. Be patient and rest assure knowing that full results will take up to 24 hours after application to appear with O.C. Tan 2 U Express Self Tanning Products.
  • If I wait longer than the suggested development time to take my first shower rinse will my O.C. Tan 2 U Self Tan over develop or darken my results?
    With our Original Self Tan products, no. However, leaving either the Original or the Express self tanner on skin for longer than 12 hours will not deem darker results and will only dry out skin resulting in a quicker fading self tan. The active ingredient in all sunless tanning products, DHA is designed to be left on skin for no more than 12 hours or a drying effect will occur. The more moisturized your skin is the longer your self tan will last. Both the Original and Express are fully developed at the 12 hour mark and will not darken after 12 hours of wear. You can darken your self tan result with the Express by leaving it on for longer than the recommended 4 hours but not more than 12 hours.
  • Do O.C. Tan 2 U Self Tan Products contain a Bronzer Color Guide?
    Yes, ALL of our Self Tanning products contain a Bronzer which serves as a color guide to show you where self tanner has been applied during application. The Bronzer Color Guide allows you to blend your self tan for even application and will rinse off with the first shower rinse. Once you apply, your skin will instantly appear bronzed. After application you can expect your tan to appear as if it is darkening as the development time goes on. Do not fret, this is just the self tan developing under the bronzer color guide. Once you take your first shower rinse, the bronzer color guide will rinse off.
  • When rinsing off for the first time since application, is ok to use soap or body wash?"
    We do NOT recommend using soap or body wash during the first rinse. Shower with warm water to remove the bronzer color guide during your first rinse. You may use your hands to help remove the bronzer if necessary. For shower’s after the initial rinse you may use sunless tan friendly soaps and body washes. Shop our reccomended sunless tan friendly maintenance products in our online store. When choosing a soap or body wash it is best to use sulphate free to avoid any aggressive chemicals which may strip your tan. Be sure to not excessively rub at your skin while showering or drying off as this can exfoliate the skin, increasing the fade of your new gorgeous glow!
  • My tan has lightened after my first rinse, HELP!"
    Do not fret! The color you see rinsing off in the shower during the first rinse is the bronzer color guide only. All of our self tan products contain a bronzer color guide to allow for even application. The bronzer color guide will rinse off in the shower allowing to reveal your self tan. When Self Tanning with The Original at the full development time and time of rinse you will have darkened quite a bit from time of application. This is because you now have the bronzer color guide on your skin AND a fully developed tan. The bronzer color guide is designed to help you achieve even results while applying and will wash off during your first rinse revealing your fully developed tan. When Self Tanning with the Express you will notice your color lighten quite a bit after your first rinse. Don’t worry, color results take a full 24 hours from time of application to appear. The Express is a rapid formula designed to allow showering and normal life activities to occur much sooner than with the Original. Be patient and rest assure knowing that full results will take up to 24 hours after application to appear with O.C. Tan 2 U Express Self Tanning Products.
  • How do I maintain and prolong my Self Tan?
    We are happy you asked! Follow our recommended Tan Care Prep and Maintenance instructions that may be found on our Tan Care Page to get the most out of your self tan.   • Can I apply my self tan twice in the same day?
    Generally, yes and many of us do. Simply, apply 2 coats of the product during initial application. If you have not used our products before and are unsure what depth results to expect we suggest waiting a full 24 hours after initial application before applying a 2nd coat to allow for full results to appear.
  • How long will my Self Tan last?
    When following our prep and maintenance instructions located on our Tan Care page, results will last 7-14 days.   • How often should I Self Tan?
    It's completely up to you! When you have decided to re-tan, we recommend removing all of the previous tans and thoroughly exfoliating to get the best results. However, some may reapply the self tan the next day if results are not as dark as desired. Be sure to wait a full 24 hours after application to see full results before reapplying. Tanning at least once a week will ensure you are bronzed beautifully all year round!
  • Can I swim after applying O.C. Tan 2 U Self Tanning Products?
    For the best results, we do NOT recommend submerging in any kind of water until after the full development time has been achieved to allow the self tan to fully develop. Once you are happy with your color and have enjoyed the results, go ahead and jump in, but note that salt water and chlorinated swimming pools and spas will cause your gorgeous tan to fade much faster. For this very reason we developed our Moisture Seal Treatment which will help protect your self tan from fading as quickly in swimming water and is available for purchase through our online store. If you will be swimming we highly reccomend using our Moisture Seal Treatment immediately after applying your self tan application to prevent fading.
  • What is the O.C. Tan 2 U Moisture Seal Treatment product?
    Our Moisture Seal Treatment is the only one of it's kind. We deveolped it specifically, to lock in sunless tanning color results and prevent any sunless tan from fading as quickly in swimming water. The Moisture Seal treatment will allow your self tan to last 2-5 days longer, prevent the tan from fading in salt water or chlorine pools as quickly and moisturize skin. This product can be applied immediately after the initial self tan application and daily to maintain self tan results. When applied after initial application the Moisture Seal Treatment will not only lock in color results but also allow for a less sticky feel, leaving skin dry and happy. Using this product daily will help maintain and add moisture to skin.
  • Will my Self Tan protect me from UV exposure?
    No, O.C. Tan 2 U Self Tan products will not protect you from U.V exposure. Please ensure you use SPF when skin is exposed to the sun.
  • Can I still achieve a real sun tan with my self tan?
    Yes, but please note our tan doesn't protect from the sun's harmful UV rays. Please make sure to apply sun protection prior to any sun exposure and reapply as necessary.
  • Can O.C. Tan 2 U Self Tanning Products reduce the signs of scars and stretch marks?
    We find that our self tanning products are a great way to reduce the appearance of scars or stretch marks.
  • How do I remove Self Tan from my skin?
    That’s easy, exfoliate! To properly exfoliate we recommend using exfoliating gloves (we carry these in our online store) or plain old brown sugar. When using Exfoliating Gloves - Simply put gloves on your hands in the shower, apply your regular bar soap or body wash and SCRUB! When using Brown Sugar - Apply a cupful of brown sugar to the entire body and rub in circular motions scrubbing from head to toe. Skin should be pink, or even slightly red, after proper exfoliation.
  • Can I use O.C. Tan 2 U Self Tan products if I suffer from eczema or sensitive skin?
    Due to our products only containing the highest quality naturally derived ingredients, including 100% DHA, our products can be used on skin disorders such as eczema, however if you’re prone to skin sensitivity we always recommend doing a patch test on the skin first. For skin conditions that cause skin to be drier than normal we reccomend adding our Moisture Seal Treatment product as part of your self tan application to dramatically increase moisture properties in the skin. This product can be found in our online store.
  • I have acne prone skin, will O.C. Tan 2 U Products cause me to break out?"
    All of our products are perfect for all skin types! They contain ingredients that have a low comedogenic rating meaning they will not clog pores and cause breakouts.
  • Are O.C. Tan 2 U Self Tan products safe to use if I am pregnant or nursing?
    Generally speaking, all self tan products are safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding (we suggest avoiding the breast area if you’re lactating). We do however, recommend consulting with your doctor or doing a spot test to ensure you don't have any reactions due to an increase of hormones during this time.
  • I achieved much lighter than expected color results from my most recent self tanning experience with O.C. Tan 2 U products or another product on the market. Why?
    Simple answer, hormone levels! Hormone levels affect the skin’s natural pH balance. When Hormone levels are too high a light tan or no tan can result. Certain medications, pregnancy and nursing can all affect hormone levels. Wait a week and try self tanning again. Since as females most of our hormone levels are ever changing as our bodies go through it’s natural cycle. One light or nonexistent result will not always be the case. If hormone levels are not the issue and you are looking for DARK color results we highly recommend our Express Self Tanning products as they can achieve much darker results than our Original formula. Leaving the Express Self Tanner on skin for longer than the suggested 4 hour development time will equal darker results. We do not recommend leaving any of our self tanning products on the skin for longer than 12 hours before your first shower rinse as they are fully developed at this time and will only result in skin drying when left on longer than this period.
  • Why does my self tan appear green after initial application?
    Products like perfumes, deodorants, and makeups might react with our product, and can lead to a green pigmentation during initial application. These sections might turn green when tanned. It is advisable to rinse your body thoroughly before starting your self tan application to prevent such a reaction but if you have such a reaction due to these products not being properly removed prior to application, no worries the green tint will rinse off with your first shower rinse.
  • Are your products all natural and cruelty free?
    All of O.C. Tan 2 U’s products are 100% naturally derived & cruelty free. Rest assure, our entire product line is free from alcohol, parabens, dyes & chemicals. We test on human babes only.
  • Where are O.C. Tan 2 U products made?
    All of O.C. Tan 2 U’s products are made right here in the USA!
  • Where can I find a full list of ingredients for each product?

  • How long will it take for someone to respond to my email inquiry?
    Our customer service team is based at our head office in St. Louis, MO. We’re online Monday - Friday 9am - 4.30pm CST. We will always do our best to respond to your email within 24 business hours, but often with large amounts of inquiries our response time can be anywhere from 24 - 48 hours. This does not include weekends or public holidays.
  • Which payment methods are accepted?
    Shop O.C. Tan 2 U Self Tanning accepts payments made by all major debit and credit card such as Visa, Mastercard, American Express & Discover. Transactions made will be billed and viewable on your transaction statement by www.shopoctan2u.com
  • How can I be notified of specials and promotions?

  • What happens after I place my order?
    After placing an order we will send you an order confirmation email with all your order details included. Allow 1-3 business days processing time for us to dispatch your order to our shipping carrier. We aim to process & dispatch to our shipping carrier by the very next business day. However, when a high volume of orders are placed, we process them in the order they are received and this may take up to 3 business days. As soon as your order has been dispatched to our carrier, you will receive a separate shipping confirmation email with all your tracking information enclosed.
  • I didn’t get a confirmation email. Did I place my order successfully?
    We know you're excited about your order and we are too! Please be patient if your order confirmation isn’t delivered to your inbox straight away – it can take a couple of hours. Please ensure that you're checking the correct email address you used to purchase your product with and check it falls into your spam/junk mail. After placing your order and making the payment, you will receive an order confirmation email, with the following information: Order Number Name Item/s purchased Shipping address Payment method Once your order has been processed and dispatched to our shipping carrier, we will send you a shipping confirmation email with tracking information enclosed.
  • I entered the wrong email address. What should I do?
    We can fix this for you! Please email us at danielle@shopoctan2u.com with your order number and correct email address and we can update this. We can also re-send your order and shipping confirmations so you have all the details you need to keep an eye on your package.
  • How can I cancel my order?
    All cancellation requests are reviewed individually. Email us at danielle@shopoctan2u.com as soon as possible with ‘cancel order’ in the subject line and include your order number. If the order has not been processed then we may be able to grant your request, however if your order has been dispatched or you have not notified our team with enough time or information, then we will be unable to process your request. ShopOCTan2U will not be responsible for unwanted or incorrect orders. Cancellations and/or refund requests are not guaranteed.
  • I was charged twice. What should I do?
    We are sorry to hear that! In many cases, you will see this as "Pending" transaction. Don’t fret! A declined transaction could also appear as "Pending". When this happens, the transaction will not be cleared by the bank, and the amount will be reversed back to your account within 5-10 business days. You may also email us at danielle@shopoctan2u.com if you have other questions.
  • I’m getting an error upon checking out. What should I do?
    A processor decline indicates that the customer’s bank has refused the transaction request. Sometimes you can tell why it was declined by reading the response code, but only your bank can confirm the specific reason. Below are some of the common reasons for the declines: Do Not Honour: The customer's bank is unwilling to accept the transaction. Please contact the bank for more details regarding this generic decline. Insufficient Funds: The account did not have sufficient funds to cover the transaction amount at the time of the transaction Please make sure there are enough funds in the account before retrying again. Limit Exceeded: The attempted purchase exceeds the withdrawal limit of the account. Please contact the bank to change the account limits or use a different payment method. Card Issuer Declined CVV: The customer entered in an invalid security code or made a typo in their card information. Please try again – if the decline persists, please contact the bank. Invalid Transaction: The customer’s bank declined the transaction, typically because the card in question does not support this type of transaction. Please contact the bank for more information.
  • My order arrived damaged. What should I do?
    Oh no! We are sorry and would like to make it right. Please send images of the damaged products to danielle@shopoctan2u.com along with your order number and we will be able to assist you.
  • There are missing product(s) in my order. What should I do?
    Oh no! We are sorry for the incomplete order. Please email us at danielle@shopoctan2u.com for assistance! Do provide us with your order number and a photo of the products you received and we will get back to you accordingly. Please note that all incomplete orders received must be reported within 14 days of delivery. We will get back to you as soon as we can!
  • I received the wrong product(s). What should I do?
    Oh no! We are sorry you received the wrong product. Please email us at danielle@shopoctan2u.com for assistance! Do provide us with your order number, a photo of the wrong product you received, and a photo of the shipping label and we will get back to you accordingly. Please note that all order issues must be reported within 14 days of delivery. We will get back to you as soon as we can!

  • How much does shipping cost?
    We ship using USPS Priority Mail. With this carrier service you will receive your order once shipped in 1-3 business days with tracking included for a flat rate of $8.50 on all orders.
  • How long will my order take to arrive?
    All orders will have a 1-5 day processing time before shipment. Most of the time we get orders out in 1-2 days however, during high volume order times it may take up to 5 days for your order to be processed, packaged and shipped out. This includes business days only, weekends and holidays will not be considered a processing day. We ship orders in the order they are received. All orders are shipped USPS Priority Mail with a 1-3 day expected arrival of delivery. Once your order has shipped you will be emailed a tracking number that can be used throughout the entire shipping process.
  • COVID-19
    Due to COVID-19, please be aware that the above shipping times may be temporarily affected and you may experience delays in receiving your order. We ask you to please be patient with our shipping carrier during this period and understand that any delays with shipping are completely out of our control.   • What shipping carrier do you use?
    To keep your shipping costs low as of now all orders are shipped USPS Priority Mail. We hope to add UPS 2 day shipping in the near future.
  • Can I change my shipping address once my order has been processed?
    Unfortunately not, as soon as your order has left our distribution center we are unable to change any of the details. Always be sure to triple check your order details and notify us at danielle@shopoctan2u.com as soon as you realise something is incorrect. ShopOCTan2U will not be liable for orders missing due to incorrect or incomplete address details.
  • How do I track my order?
    Once your order has been processed (allow 1-3 business days for order processing) you will receive a shipping confirmation email. You can track your order using the tracking number and link provided to you in this email. If for any reason, this is not working or you’re having trouble finding these details, please contact us at danielle@shopoctan2u.com
  • Can I use a P.O. Box as my shipping address?
    Unfortunately, at this time we do not ship to P.O. Boxes.
  • Do you deliver outside of the U.S.?
    At this time we are unable to ship outside of the United States.
  • Has my order shipped out? I have not received a tracking confirmation email.
    We are super excited for you to receive your order, but please be patient! Typically, it takes 1-3 business days for your order to be processed so you may expect a shipping confirmation email within that time frame! Be sure to check your junk/spam mail as it may have landed there as well.

  • What is your Return Policy?
    ShopOCTan2U will only accept a return, exchange or refund if the products are returned in their original packaging and condition within 30 days of purchase. No refund will be accepted for products that have been opened or are returned damaged. All shipping costs for returns are the responsibility of the customer and are non-refundable.   • Can I organize an exchange or refund once my item is returned?
    Once your product has been returned to us, we will notify you via email to discuss your options to receive an exchange or refund.
  • Do you refund shipping costs if I return something?
    All shipping costs for returns, refunds & exchanges are the responsibility of the customer and are non-refundable.
  • Can I get a refund if the price has changed?
    Sorry, we are unable to honor any promotions for orders placed outside of the promotional period as this would be unfair to the rest of our customers. We apologize for any inconvenience, and we appreciate your kind understanding! Please be sure to sign up for our newsletter where we announce all of our promotions located at the bottom of our site.
  • My refund is incorrect. What should I do?
    We are sorry if we have made a mistake with your refund! Don't worry, please email us at danielle@shopoctan2u.com for assistance! Please note that the following may affect the amount you have been refunded: Shipping cost: we only refund for the damaged/faulty products Any discounts that were applied at the time of sale, which may not now be applicable
  • What happens to my refund if my card/account is closed?
    We are sorry for the issue! At this point, we are only able to issue a refund to the original point of purchase for the order. If the card account is closed, we may offer a store credit with the same amount of credit for your next purchase.
  • When will I get a refund?
    Your refund will be processed as soon as the product you have returned is received by us and it usually takes between 5-10 business days for the refund to be credited to your bank account. Please note that the time taken for a payment services provider (bank) to provide you with your refund can vary depending upon the provider/bank.
